End of the Year Wrap Up 2018

It’s so wonderful to see that amongst the chaos of 2018, there were some really beautiful moments and achievements to celebrate. A round of applause to the WBP crew and all of you readers for supporting WBP and our writing outside of the blog. You mean the world to us so thank you. Let’s take a look back at the WBP announcements of 2018!

FEBRUARY

Publishers Weekly announced the YA contemporary fantasy duology book deal for Gumiho, now titled Wicked Fox by Kat Cho coming fall 2019 from Putnam. You can add Wicked Fox to Goodreads here. Congrats, Kat!

APRIL

Amanda Foody released her sophomore novel, the first book in her new The Shadow Game series, Ace of Shades from Harlequin Teen. You can add it to Goodreads here! Congrats, Amanda!

Axie Oh sold the untitled companion novel to her debut, Rebel Seoul. Tu Books is set to release the companion title fall 2019. You can add it to Goodreads here. Congrats, Axie!

MAY

Mara Fitzgerald signed with Carrie Pestritto at Laura Dail Literary Agency! Congrats, Mara!

Many of us from the WBP Critique Group met up for BEA/Bookcon and had a blast as per usual!

Meg Kohlmann got a job at Radish, an amazing serialized fiction app!

JUNE

Akshaya Raman signed with Hillary Jacobson at ICM Partners. Congrats, Akshaya!

SEPTEMBER

Entertainment Weekly announced the seven figure book deal for There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool which you can add to Goodreads here. Katy’s debut novel comes from Henry Holt Books for Young Readers and will release September 2019. Congrats, Katy!

OCTOBER

Publishers Weekly announced Mara Fitzgerald sold her YA fantasy duology beginning with The Walls in the Ruby Sky to Disney Hyperion, coming 2020. You can add it to Goodreads here. Congrats, Mara!

NOVEMBER

Kat Cho began working for Glasstown Entertainment and in the fall was promoted to Assistant Editor. Congrats, Kat!
